Nice to meet you! I’m Laurie Ye, pursuing both undergraduate and master’s degrees at Emory University. This site offers more than just my projects from the English New Media class; it’s a holistic reflection of who I am. Join me on this exploration! 🙂

Project of Programming Language (R, Python, SQL):

Hello! I’m Laurie Ye, a student at Emory University, exploring the crossroads of Data Science, Information System, and New Media Writing. My academic adventure was highlighted by my enrollment in the Advanced English Writing course during my sophomore year, a transformative period under the astute mentorship of Professor David Morgen.

Guided by Socrates’s words, “To find yourself, think for yourself,” which prominently adorns my website, I ventured into various genres. I imbibed profound rhetorical insights, honed my logical thinking, and engaged deeply with the multifaceted realm of new media. This website stands as a testament to that journey. From my inaugural sketches—which were as challenging as they were unconventional—to my collaborative podcast series produced alongside Stella and Crystal, every piece mirrors my evolution in critical thinking, communication, and creativity.

One particular endeavor worth mentioning was my exploration into the world of Twine games. Moving away from the mainstream, my team and I crafted games like “Moment of Truth” and “Ensemble,” which resonate with our academic inclinations and showcase our collective inventiveness. Furthermore, my final sketch assignment symbolically juxtaposes various coffee types with my writing journey. The parallels I drew, for instance, between foundational coffee elements and the bedrock of writing, hint at my reflective approach to both life and academia.

Beyond the arts, my stint at EverGreen Transportation & Infrastructure saw me apply my technical acumen, achieving an impressive 18% increase in efficiency through data manipulation, analysis, and machine learning. My Brazilian E-Commerce Store Analysis further solidifies my capabilities, aligning with vision of enhancing customers interactions.

Anticipating my graduation between Winter 2024 and Spring 2025, I am wholeheartedly immersing myself in my studies. My academic foundation, coupled with hands-on projects, solidifies my expertise in Python, Machine Learning libraries, and relational databases. As I continually venture into Predictive Analytics, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing, I am ever eager to contribute to diverse, cutting-edge environments.

Join me as you navigate this website. It offers a holistic view into my world—a blend of literary reflections, technical prowess, and personal growth.

“To find yourself, think for yourself.” –SOCRATES
